SHANGHAI, CHINA (29 June 2007) — MWE China Law Offices were delighted to sponsor the “In-House Team of the Year Award” at the recent Asian Legal Business Awards, held at The Westing, Shanghai. The “In-House Team of the Year Award” was a hotly contested category where the winning in-house team had to demonstrate excellent skills in coordinating major transactions for its employer. The finalists were announced that evening along with the winning team General Electric.
Kevin Qian, a partner of MWE China Law Offices had the honour of being a member of the judges’ panel for the awards which effectively recognises the contribution he has made to the industry. In 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, he was recognised as one of Asia’s Leading Business Lawyers for his work in the area of M&A. In 2004, he accepted the nomination by the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) as the committee chair of its International Trade Committee. Mr. Qian is the first and only lawyer from the China mainland elected chairman of an IPBA committee. In 2007, he was elected as the vice director of IPBA Project Coordination Committee.
