Shanghai, China (March 28, 2008) β John Huang, a managing partner of MWE China Law Offices, was invited by Shanghai Luwan District Government to give a lecture on the modern service industry to high-ranking governmental officials. The lecture, “Analysis on International Modern Service Industry and Advise for Luwan District,” received a great response from the attendees.
Located in the heart of Shanghai, Luwan District is home to the headquarters of many important modern service firms and is the centre for leisure activities. Combining his experiences with various industries around the world and analysis of important statistics, Mr.Huang was able to share his insight delivering an intriguing lecture.
Mr. Huang used vivid examples to illustrate the trend that the world’s leading manufacturing corporations have significantly increased their focus on the service sector. As a manufacturing giant, China should pay special attention to this issue and devote resources in response to this trend. The keys are two-fold: the information technology and human resource. China should increase its investment on these two areas to enhance the quality of Chinese talents in the service industry. He also advised the officials to appreciate the great value that the modern service industry can create and therefore should consider building a more attractive environment for the modern service firms and talents.
