SHANGHAI, CHINA (5 May 2009) β MWE China Law Offices, McDermott Will & Emery's strategic alliance partner Firm, was recently announced winner of the "Rising Law Firm of the Year" by ALB China Law Awards. MWE China was chosen for the Award by a panel of ALB judges from among seven top Chinese law firms that have fewer than 50 lawyers and that serve the legal needs of the entire mainland China market.
The Award recognizes MWE China for achieving during the past year the most impressive advancement in size, status, capability, service offering and market position of all the finalist firms. ALB Awards, which recognizes the excellence of China's leading law firms and their top deals and dealmakers, presented the award at an April 24, 2009 ceremony at the Westin Bund Center Hotel in Shanghai. Kevin Y. Qian, MWE China's co-founding partner, received the award on behalf of the Firm acknowledging the achievement of MWE China and the strength of the strategic alliance with McDermott Will & Emery.
Each year, ALB China invites prominent members of the legal community to select and evaluate top legal performers for ALB China awards. The selections extended beyond China to include Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
